Old Heillecourt is a linear village with restored houses and a small cobbled centre. It is typical of Lorraine, and features the traditional ‘usoir’: a sort of yard between the houses and the road. Heillecourt has grown considerably in recent years, with developments of modern houses and several large commercial zones set around Embanie Park with its 35 hectares of leisure facilities and green spaces for walking. With its five industrial parks, Heillecourt plays an important role in the local economy. The regional daily newspaper Est Républicain is both headquartered and printed here.
Each spring, the village comes to life for ‘Saveurs Nature’, when artisan food producers gather to sell their high-quality wares. It’s a great opportunity to taste some delicious foods and do your bit for the planet!
