Laxou

Old Laxou is a picture postcard village with its cobbled streets. Heading further down towards Nancy, look out for the art nouveau and art deco mansions. In the lower part of Laxou, you will find the Provinces district, typical of the 1960s, and Espace Europe, a cultural centre housed in the deconsecrated Saint-Paul’s church and listed as a 20th-century architectural heritage site.

Within the Plateau de Haye eco-district, La Sapinière and Le Champ-le-Bœuf, the more recent Laxou districts close to the renovated fitness trail, are among Greater Nancy’s major retail and services zones.

Laxou has laid out and signposted more than 15km of paths through gardens, orchards and the forest. For a six-month periods every two years, artists are invited to exhibit their work in the open air, creating a very popular event that brings nature and culture together.
