NOTRE-DAME DE L'ANNONCIATION CATHEDRAL

Historic site and monument, Baroque, Classical in Nancy
  • Designed by architects Giovanni Betto, Jules Hardouin-Mansart and Germain Boffrand, it was built in the early 18th century, during the reigns of Dukes Leopold and Stanislas. It features railings by Jean Lamour, a cupola painted by Claude Jacquard and a listed organ. Paintings by the Lorraine School from the 17th and 18th centuries. Originally a primatial church, it became a cathedral when Nancy became a bishopric in 1777.
