In partnership with the Alliance Internationale des Éditeurs Indépendants (800 publishing houses in 55 countries), schools and universities, social centers, booksellers in Nancy, libraries and media libraries in the region, the MJC Lillebonne and the André Malraux Cultural Center in Vandoeuvre, Diwan en Lorraine works to bring bibliodiversity to life. Each year, the public is invited to meet some thirty authors and illustrators. Some live and write in Africa or the Orient, depending on the publisher, while others live in Europe; they are published by African, Oriental or European publishing houses.
The Festival Livres d'Ailleurs is a wonderful opportunity to broaden literary horizons and familiarize the public with other imaginary worlds. Today, it's an eagerly-awaited event for schools, universities, social centers and prisons to organize meetings with guest authors.
The event is dedicated to the Orient, and will be chaired by French-Iranian writer, translator and publisher Sorour Kasmaï, winner of the "100 Women of Culture in Publishing" award in 2024.
