After the turmoil and destruction of the First World War, all sectors of the French economy had to rebuild. Brewing also took on industrial proportions in Lorraine and Champagne-Ardenne. Reconstruction, which had to be swift and efficient, paved the way for the Art Deco style that flourished in the 1930s.
