Philippe Claudel is a prolific writer with some forty books translated worldwide, as well as being a film-maker, playwright and President of the Académie Goncourt. Sponsor of the ARIEL residency program at the Université de Lorraine, his work explores the world of prisons and the drama of migration, themes that will no doubt be addressed during this meeting with Puja Changoiwala, the guest author of this edition.
Puja Changoiwala is an award-winning journalist and author of three books. She is equally at home in fiction and non-fiction, exploring stories of lives on the margins of society: Mumbai sewer divers, men trafficked in the Russian-Ukrainian war, or passengers on the "Internet Express" trains in Kashmir.
Distinguished as a "storyteller of history", she has seen her reports broadcast in over 50 publications worldwide, including TV channels such as BBC, CNN, British and American newspapers such as The Guardian, The Washington Post, and magazines such as National Geographic. She has also received several awards, including the ICFJ Covid-19 Reporting Award, the Journalism for an Equitable Asia Merit Award, the Laadli Media Award for Gender Sensitivity and the British Council Study UK Alumni Award.
