Three exhibitions as part of the Year of Photography
Photography will soon be two hundred years old, two centuries during which it has shaped our way of apprehending and understanding the world. Although it does not fall into the traditional categories of the fine arts, its legitimacy as an art form is no longer in question. Photography is just as capable of expressing beauty as drawing or painting.

Without waiting for an official commemoration date, photography in all its manifestations and forms is celebrated in Nancy during a rich and multifaceted "photographic year", starting in May 2024. It will conclude in June 2025, with the Événement photographique.
POUR L'AMOUR DE SOI
A PROJECT BY COMPAGNIE SANS SOMMEIL, WITH ASSOCIATION ACCUEIL ET RÉINSERTION SOCIALE (AARS)
The "Pour l'amour de soi" project, initiated and developed under the conception and creation of Danièle Gabou, artistic director, actress and stage director, constitutes a global and coherent project: photographic, theatrical, musical and societal. Driven by a strong individual and associative commitment, it aims to contribute an artistic, cultural and humanist dimension to a national multi-partner experiment in the fight against extreme poverty and homelessness, in which AARS is participating.
The Compagnie Sans Sommeil proposed a self-image project to help the residents of the Village d'Insertion - renamed Village sans prétention by its inhabitants, in reference to Brassens, and to get rid of the negative image that the word "insertion" can imply - to regain their self-esteem through several modalities.
The final aim of this work to regain citizenship and republican essence takes several forms: work around the body and mind, through visual creations in the form of an exhibition, documentary film, writing and text reading work, cultural outings, etc.
The Musée des Beaux-Arts is hosting an exhibition of portraits produced during the project.
Art direction: Danielle Gabou, photography: Emmanuelle Henry, sound: Poet, video: Régis Caël.
