Adapted from Julien Villa's novel of the same name, this farcical, musical tragi-comedy, in the form of a modern epic, features a modern-day Don Quixote and mythomaniac in Marco, a simple municipal gardener in Rodez. Totally bowled over by his discovery of 'Subcomandante Marcos' and the neo-Zapatistas, he decides to occupy the traffic circle opposite his home in protest against the imminent demolition of his pavilion, the last vestige of the world before the expansion of a large industrial zone. Now he's off on a crusade, plastering his revolutionary communiqués and arming himself with a "nightmare rifle" to fight the falsehood of the world with his band of buddies and his group of anarco-mariachis. For him, Rodez no longer exists; the Mexican southeast is now the only real place in the world. His pavilion becomes "¿la realidad¿", and Marco Jublovski is none other than the sub-commander of Rodez.
